Step 1: Check if You Already Have a UAN

If you already have a UAN – share it with your employer.

If not, visit EPFO UAN Portal → Click Know your UAN → Enter Aadhaar details.

Step 2: Requirements Before You Start
  • Updated Aadhaar Card (details must match)
  • Android Mobile Phone with internet
  • Aadhaar-linked Mobile Number
  • Download the UMANG App
Important: Aadhaar details must be correct; otherwise, face authentication will fail.
Step 3: Register on UMANG App
  1. Open UMANG App → Select New User → Register Here
  2. Enter Aadhaar-linked mobile number
  3. Agree to terms and conditions
  4. Create a 6-digit MPIN (for login)
  5. If already registered, simply log in
Step 4: UAN Allotment & Face Authentication

Once logged in:

  • Go to EPFO → UAN Allotment and Activation
  • Enter Aadhaar details and submit
  • App will redirect to Aadhaar Face RD site
Face Authentication Tips:
  • Keep your face within the circle boundary
  • Ensure proper lighting (turn on flash if needed)
  • Remove sunglasses or anything covering your face
  • Blink your eyes when prompted (multiple times if needed)
Step 5: Confirmation & SMS

After successful verification, you will see Aadhaar details and UAN creation confirmation. You will also receive an SMS with your UAN number.
