Online Death Claim by Beneficiary – EPFO UAN Member Portal

To make things easy for EPF members and their beneficiaries, EPFO has launched two new online functionalities, which are a revamped version of e-Nomination facility and an online provision for EPF death withdrawal claim by beneficiary. EPF members can now update or change their nominee/beneficiary details online through e-Nomination, and their beneficiaries can submit EPF Composite Death Claim Form online. In this article, we will provide you with a step-by-step guide on how to file an online death claim by beneficiary on the EPFO UAN Member Portal.

Ensure that the EPF member has updated their nominee/beneficiary details under the e-Nomination link of the UAN member portal.

Visit the EPFO’s unified member portal at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.

Click on the “Important links” section on the homepage and select “Death claim filing by beneficiary”.

The beneficiary has to provide below details and these should be as per the EPFO records.

Enter the UAN, captcha code and click on “Verify”.

Select the “Proceed for claim” option.

Select the EPF Composite Death Claim Form and enter the required details, including the Aadhaar number of the deceased EPF member and the nominee/beneficiary.

Select the type of claim (EPF Withdrawal Claim (Form 20), EPS Pension Claim (Form 10D) or Life Insurance Claim under EDLI Scheme (Form 5IF)).

Click on “Get Authorization Pin”.

An authorization pin will be sent to the beneficiary’s Aadhaar linked mobile number.

Enter the authorization pin and click on “Submit”.

The EPF death claim forms will be submitted online with the EPFO.

EPF members’ beneficiaries can now submit EPF death claim forms or composite claim form online through the EPFO UAN member portal. However, it is important to ensure that the EPF member has updated their nominee/beneficiary details under the e-Nomination link of the UAN member portal. This new online functionality will make the death claim process simpler and more efficient for the beneficiaries of EPF members.
