EPFO EXTENSION OF TIME – UAN Activation and Seeding Bank Account with Aadhar for availing the benefits under ELI Scheme

The EPFO notification dated 4th December 2024, granted the extension of time limit for UAN Activation and Aadhar seeding in bank accounts for all the employees for availing the benifits under ELI Scheme. The notification states that the time limit for UAN activation and Aadhar seeding in bank accounts has been extended to 15th Dec 2024 from the earlier date of 30th November 2024. The Employers shall ensure that the UAN is linked with the Aadhar of all their employees who have joined in the current financial year, starting with the latest joinees.

It also states that the activation process is simple and straighforward as it can be completed using an Aadhar based OTP by following the steps given below: –

• Go to EPFO Member Portal
• Click on the ‘Activate UAN” link under Important Links.
• Enter your UAN, Aadhaar number, name, DOB, and Aadhaar linked mobile number.
• Agree to Aadhaar OTP verification
• Click “Get Authorization PIN ” to receive an OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
• Enter the OTP to complete the activation.
• A password will be sent to your registered mobile number upon successful activation.
